There is a Universal Wholeness – February 6 2018

There is a Universal Wholeness seeking expression through everything. We are calling it simply Life. The religionist calls it God. The philosopher calls it Reality. Life is infinite energy coupled with limitless creative imagination.
We seek ‘spiritual experience’ because each of us feels the truth within that there is something longing to come through us; that there is an infinite energy that wishes to express through us, to create through us. We are drawn to the spiritual in life not because we are hoping to be something better than what we are, but rather because we want to be exactly what we are in that deepest part of ourselves.
[Life] is the invisible essence and substance of every visible form. Its nature is goodness, truth, wisdom and beauty, as well as energy and imagination. Our highest satisfaction comes from a sense of conscious union with this invisible Life.
When we meditate, we contact this place of life within. We de-excite this individual experience of life we think ourselves to be and we settle down to this place of essence, like a wave settling down to feel its ocean-ness, and we begin to feel the truth of what we are. We begin to trust that which wants to be expressed through us because we can sense that this place deep within, this expression of Life itself, is good, true, wise, and beautiful. We begin to trust that whatever comes from this deepest place of Self, by definition will be better than the best idea ‘I’ as individuality may have about how things should go.
And as I put this to the test in my life–finding and identifying with my true foundation, then becoming present, then offering myself to the world without trying to control the outcome–I will find my place in the world and the appropriate people and situations that most fully will call forth and support the best that I am.
All human endeavor is an attempt to get back to first principles, to find such an inward wholeness that all sense of fear, doubt and uncertainty vanishes.
All quotes from Ernest Holmes,
This Thing Called You
When we become able fully to trust this inner identity, this “inward wholeness,” fear vanishes; for the experience of fear requires an idea of “other.” If I am at one with Life itself, there is no other. There is only Life.
Doubt and uncertainty vanish because, aligned with Life, with nature, I am aligned with evolution and each step I take, each word I speak, each action I fulfill will be in the direction of evolution, will be the most evolutionary step, word, action possible in that moment.
This is freedom: knowing that my actions are based in the principles of nature, rather than in my individuality and self-ishness; knowing that I am following the urgings of nature, rather than of the ego; knowing that my actions are guided by the consciousness of Totality Itself, and the goodness that is its essence.
Today I will conscientiously step out of speculation and ask for guidance from deep within, ask to be shown what God/nature/Life would have of me in this very moment, and then move in the direction that feels most aligned with that knowing at the center of me.
